About Me

Sharon Perlman Berry

I came into the field of neuropsychology after developing a deep interest in the mind and the brain. Moving beyond my early training in traditional psychotherapy, neuropsychology led me to understand how changes in the brain affect cognition, behavior and emotions. I learned that with highly specialized training in this area, I would be able to make a huge difference in people’s lives, whether for the individual whose brain has been impacted or loved ones seeking answers. Being a practical and logical thinker, I gravitated to the structure and certainty of the data. Yet, what inspires me most is each person’s humanity and my connection with that person.

I am board certified by the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology. I provide medical-legal evaluations for personal injury and disability cases and clinical evaluations for diagnostic and treatment purposes. I have an active psychotherapy practice treating a range of patients, including those with neurological impairments.

Through the Wright Institute's Integrated Health Psychology Training Program, I launched a program to integrate neuropsychological services in the primary care clinics at Contra Costa Health Services. I worked there from 2012 to 2021, performing neuropsychological evaluations, supervising trainees and leading didactic seminars for the neuropsychologists in training. She recently joined the Wright Institute as an adjunct faculty member and teaches Introduction to Neuropsychology
